Energy Kinesiology, also known as Touch for Health, is a fun and easy technique that anyone can learn, no matter their background or prior knowledge. The workshops are hands-on and offered in many different countries by certified instructors who have been trained by the International Kinesiology College (IKC). It's a great opportunity to learn something new and have fun doing it!

In the Touch for Health Kinesiology program, 14 main muscle tests are taught across the 4 levels, although there are a total of 42 muscle tests. These muscle tests are used to evaluate muscle strength in relation to postural imbalances and to identify underlying stress that may be causing physical, emotional, or energetic blocks. These tests are taught as a tool for the practitioner to locate the blockages and then use different reflex techniques that help balance the body's energies, improve posture, and help accomplish personal goals.

Energy Kinesiology is not a treatment or diagnostic method for specific symptoms, but rather it works with the individual's energy, lifestyle, and goals to promote overall health and well-being. It is a safe and effective way to maintain health, boost performance and achieve peak athletic performances. The model is client-centered and the focus is on empowering the individual to take control of their own health and reach their potential.

In Energy Kinesiology (Touch For Health), we use muscle testing as a method of biofeedback to identify imbalances in the body’s energy system.

Energy Kinesiology, also known as Touch for Health, is a synthesis of ancient knowledge of the Chinese acupuncture meridians and modern techniques from fields such as chiropractic, naturopathy, and person-centered counseling. It was developed by chiropractor George Goodheart who discovered that muscles respond positively to touch reflexes and acupuncture points.

To share this information with more people, John Thie, one of his early supporters, created a training program and wrote a book called Touch for Health. The program is now offered by the International Kinesiology College (IKC) and is designed to empower individuals to take charge of their own health and wellness, and to give families the tools to improve their self-care. It helps people actively maintain and restore their own health and improve their overall well-being.

Touch for Health has been safely used since 1973 in over 100 countries. TFH encourages proactive and timely consultations with qualified healthcare professionals to determine if you have a medical condition, and whether balancing the posture, emotions, and energy is appropriate for your condition. We rely on the individual being healthy enough to determine for themselves if TFH is beneficial and whether they need to seek expert care or not. The Touch for Health model does not diagnose or treat named diseases. Touch for Health was designed to be complementary to appropriate professional health care. TFH does not help every human situation all by itself. A person might also benefit from drugs, surgery, vitamins, minerals, psychological counseling, chiropractic, etc. in addition to Touch for Health balancing. Balancing the energy of the body encourages and supports the intrinsic healing process, allowing the body to heal itself more effectively and more rapidly.

Touch for Health (Energy Kinesiology) is the most widely used system of kinesiology in the world. Millions of people have experienced and benefited from TFH. It is recognized and respected as a fundamental training for other kinesiology systems as well as a healing modality in its own right – and a key source for the emergence of Specialized Kinesiology, Energy Kinesiology, and even Energy Psychology.

Each level of the Energy Kinesiology classes offers 15 hours of continuing education (CE) credit for various professions, such as 

• nurses (RN, LPN), 
• massage and bodywork therapists, and 
• acupuncturists and Oriental medicine practitioners. 

These CE credits are issued through the Touch for Health Kinesiology Association (TFHKA) and are recognized by national governing bodies such as the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) and National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). 

However, it is important to note that it is the student's responsibility to check with their local professional boards to ensure that the CE credits will be accepted. As laws can change, the final responsibility to take the TFHKA classes based on receiving CE credits rests with the student.
